If you are an ardent fan of Facebook and Twitter you might be posting the same content on both platforms on a regular basis. If you want to save yourself from the trouble of having to post everything twice, you can now connect both the platforms and update them simultaneously. Here’s a tutorial which explains the same.
- Go to www.twitter.com from a web browser. You should use a browser itself and not apps for logging in.
- Sign in to your account and click on the ‘user symbol’ at the right hand corner.
- Then click on settings
- Open your profile settings by clicking on the profile tab
- Click on ‘Post your Tweets to Facebook’
- Click the sign in button for Facebook and log in. Twitter does not store these credentials. So you don’t have to worry about its security.
- After signing in, click on ‘Connect to Facebook’
- Now connect to the Twitter Facebook app.
- Give permission to the app to post updates on your behalf
- Now at the bottom of the page there is a drop down menu which allows you choose the audience who will be able to see the updates made by the app
- Then click on ‘Log in with Facebook’
- You will be directed to window which will give you two options, Allow and Skip.
- Click on Allow. This will give Twitter permission to access your account at Facebook
- If you want to deny ‘access to your data any time’, you can do it by clicking the’x’ icon adjacent to the label.
- Check the box adjacent to my Facebook profile, below the title ‘Allow Twitter to post to the wall of:’
- Click on Save Changes. You are done.
To alter the Twitter settings on Facebook,
- Select the arrow next to the ‘Home’ and click on ‘Account Settings’
- Select the Apps tab
- Find Twitter app and open the app settings by clicking on Edit
- Click on ‘Remove App’ to disconnect accounts
